One directional Flex Sensoris a unique component that changes resistance when bent or flexed (Patent 5086785). An un flexed sensor Style A has a nominal resistance of approximately10,000 ohms(10 K). As the flex sensor is bent in one direction the resistance gradually increases. Range of resistances of the FLX-03 Style A sensor may vary between10K and 40K depending upon the degree of the flex.
An un flexed sensor Style B begins with a infinitely high nominal resistance. As the flex sensor is bent in one direction the resistance gradually decreases. Range of resistances of the FLX-03 Style B sensor may decrease to under 10K depending upon the degree of the flex.
The flex sensor operating temperature is-45F to 125F.
Style AConnection - Pin connector .100" spacing
Style BConnection - 2 Position socket mates to position header .100" spacing
The sensor measures1/4inch wide,4 1/2inches long and only .019inches thick!

Description:
A simple flex sensor 4.5" in length. As the sensor is flexed, the resistance across the sensor increases. Patented technology by Spectra Symbol - they claim these sensors were used in the originalNintendo Power Glove. I love the Nintendo Power Glove. It's so bad!
The resistance of the flex sensor changes when the metal pads are on the outside of the bend (text on inside of bend).
Straight (unflexed) resistance: ~9000 Ohm
90 degree bend resistance: ~14000 Ohm
180 degree bend resistance : ~22000 Ohm
Connector is 0.1" spaced and bread board friendly.
